5 More Simple Ways To Make A Positive Impact in The World

Research has proven that there is a strong correlation between kindness and happiness. Those who engage in random acts of kindness are happier. Research indicates that there is an increased level of activity in the part of the brain responsible for compassion.

Every day holds an opportunity for us to help others or do small random acts of kindness to positively impact other people’s lives.

In my last week’s post, I shared 5 simple ways you can spread kindness and make a positive difference today. Today, I’ll be sharing 5 more super simple ways how you can easily spread more love and kindness to others:

Whether it’s helping an old lady with her groceries, helping someone pick up items they’ve dropped, or even holding an elevator door for others, it is truly a very courteous act of love if we offer our help proactively.

The thing is, there are quite a few people who may not want to be seen as a “bother”, thus will not open their mouths to ask for help even if they know they could use some help. That is why proactively offering your help is a good way to let that person know you are more than willing to help, they just have to say, “yes, thank you.”

It’s ok if they politely decline your help. The point is, you offered. That is what matters.

Whether you’re on a bicycle, driving a car, or when boarding a public transport, let others go first when possible.

It is of course a different scenario altogether if you are rushing and pressed for time, but when you have no such pressure, please do let others go first.

It costs you nothing, but this small act of kindness has the power to make another person’s day in an instant.

Be it your friends, family, colleagues, or staff. If someone has done something nice or they achieved a small milestone, don’t hesitate to let them know.

Let them know you appreciate their efforts. This will help to motivate them to do more of what they’ve done right and push even more boundaries.

Who doesn’t like to be appreciated, right?

Especially now with social distancing, do take the time to drop your loved ones (or even colleagues and friends) a message just to ask if they are fine.

Ask them if they are fine, if they need any help, that you are thinking about them, and that you care about them.

You see? It doesn’t have to be a complex message. Doing this small little act of love can help to strengthen your relationship with others exponentially.

There is always someone in the world who is less fortunate than us. So if you have items laying around in your house that are old, in good condition but you no longer use them, why not give them away to the poor or the homeless?

You can donate to the Red Cross or any small organisations near your home town that donates to the homeless or the poor.

Over here in Hannover, there is a shop called Austausch, which means “Exchange”. You can give away any items you have no more need for to them. Be it shoes, bags, decor pieces, clothes, jewellery, etc. They’ll then sift through the items and resell those that can be resold as a second hand item, but at a very small fraction of the original price. If there are items which might not be able to be sold, they’ll donate the items to the Red Cross.

I super love this concept because it helps to reduce your environmental impact, doesn’t promote exploitative work conditions, and helps to save you a ton of money!

Once you’ve watched today's video, I’d love to hear from you.
