Why do I feel guilty for growing and changing as a person?

You’ve changed. People noticed. Some called it different. Some called it distant. That’s not betrayal. That’s growth doing its job.

You’ve CHANGED 😶 And somewhere along the way, someone made you feel like that was a problem to fix.

The people who were most unsettled by your growth weren’t your enemies — they were just unprepared for a version of you that no longer needed their approval.

Changing is not a betrayal of who you were. It’s the evidence that who you were was always capable of becoming more.

The version of you from five years ago made decisions with the information she had.

So did the version from last year.

You are allowed to update. You are allowed to outgrow. You are allowed to become someone that your old self wouldn’t fully recognise — because that’s exactly what growth looks like 🦋✨

If someone in your life is uncomfortable with who you’re becoming, that discomfort belongs to them, not to you.

Have you ever felt guilty for growing beyond where you started? I’d love to hear your story in the comments.
