Many people have done this at some point in their life, COMPARE their career to others; me included. What about you?
During my 20s, I changed my career at least 4 times and tried my hand at a variety of businesses. I did wonder to myself - Is it just ME?🫣 Why do others seem to know what careers they want to pursue or businesses that they want to build? It’s like everyone has got their s*** together except me. I've come to learn a few valuable #LIFELESSONS. 1. Everyone's career journey is just DIFFERENT. Some people find their ideal dream job or business faster than others, while some need a little more time to test the waters and discover what truly works for them. But in no way, does it mean that you are incompetent or lost in life. You are simply blossoming at your own pace 🌻 2. I wish I knew about the existence of Career Counselors way back then 🤷🏻♀️ It would have definitely helped me realize a career that best suited me muchhhhhh earlier in life. Because of my own turbulent #careergrowth journey, I was inspired to become a Career & Personal Growth Counsellor myself to help others! And it truly is a #FULFILLING path for me😍 As you can see, nothing is lost. Everything fell into place at its own pace. #keeplearning, keep growing. RUDE and ARROGANT people are so NOT my kind of people🙅🏻♀️❌ No one is ABOVE you, remember that. In the end, we all bleed just the same.
If you're dealing with an #arrogant person, here are 5 tips on how to deal with them: 1. Be compassionate, but don’t try to FIX the person. 2. Accept the fact that the other indeed feels #SUPERIOR. 💡IMPORTANT: Understand that accepting feelings of superiority in another person does not mean that you must feel inferior in turn. Look at it as a game that you can refuse to play. 3. #COMMUNICATE directly. 💡Sometimes it is advisable to tell the other person how s/he came across in a FACTUAL way without getting emotional as much as possible. It is good to remind an arrogant person that no one knows it all and that no one can claim absolute truth. As long as it does not harm you later, do not SUPPRESS yourself. 4. If you decide to speak to them about their behavior, involve a MEDIATOR. 5. Reduce the harm by setting LIMITS. You deserve to be spoken to and treated with #KINDNESS and RESPECT, even if the other person had a bad day. And remember – Being HUMBLE is a sign of strength, not weakness 💛 Personally, I believe it is the ability to stay teachable no matter your status or how much you already know that makes a person worth being looked up to.
