As much as you wanna give love, you can't pour from an EMPTY cup🥤 But, sometimes this is easier said than done. GUILT kicks in, then the next thing you know you are back to machine mode – giving, doing, and giving some more... until you feel EMPTY and DEAD on the inside.
If you can’t help but feel guilty, remind yourself of these 4 points: 1. Remind yourself that you have the RIGHT to take breaks! (Taking time for yourself helps promote better health) 2. You can do NO GOOD for yourself, your employer, or for those you love if you are exhausted, burnt out, and overwhelmed! 3. By knowing how to take care of yourself, you’re setting a GOOD EXAMPLE for others. 4. Time off helps to boost your level of CREATIVITY ✨ I admit, taking breaks is sometimes a tricky one for me. It's easy to feel like we aren't DOING enough, aren't going FAST enough, or aren't ACHIEVING enough. Here's a gentle reminder to give yourself credit for trying! 💛And failure is NOT fatal. Though it may not feel like you're making much progress, but you ARE. Slowly but surely. Whenever you feel like a failure, like you aren't making enough progress, STOP whatever you are doing🛑 Then try THIS 3-step exercise: 1. Take a minute to do some DEEP breathing 2. Note down the ACHIEVEMENTS you've accomplished these past few months (Whether they are big or small, don't sell yourself short!) 3. Look through that list and PRAISE yourself for all those small and big wins!!🎊 Whenever we’re caught in a trying time, we easily FORGET all the great things we’ve done and just focus on the problem or failure at hand. Here are a few simple tips you can try to help you prevent burnout: 1. Set LIMITS to your work time and make sure to take breaks! (This is especially critical for those working from home) 2. Give your best and learn to LET GO (Remind yourself that work NEVER ends!) 3. Practice GRATITUDE 4. Take time to do the things that make you HAPPY 5.
