When someone has WRONGED you or when PAINFUL circumstances happen to you, how do you #LETGO, heal, and #MOVEON in life?
Some people who don’t really know my life story, might think at first, that I am kind or I'm able to talk about being #GRATEFUL for many things in my life because I’ve simply been generally ‘lucky’ in life. I wouldn’t say my life has been the worst, in comparison to anyone else, because EVERYONE goes through challenges in life in different shapes and forms, but my life definitely hasn’t always been rainbows and flowers ALL THE TIME. Reflecting on my life, whether it’s surviving physical abuse as a child, having my heart broken countless times, experiencing failed businesses, becoming nearly bankrupt, being #homeless, losing loved ones, and any other traumatic experiences that has happened in my life, the ONE thing that has helped me to NOT succumb to giving up on myself is by practicing #GRATITUDE. I’ve come to learn, that no matter how dark any given moment may be, there are ALWAYS #lessonstobelearned, #learnings that can be used to help others in the future, and above all - something to be grateful for. Practicing GRATITUDE has saved me and given me #HOPE in life, more times than I can count. What would be the opposite outcome if I DIDN’T practice gratitude? CONFESSION: I hesitate and DOUBT myself at times. Result? INACTION😐 Can you relate?
The thing that helps to kick my a** into taking action, even if they are baby steps, is reminding myself that our TIME on this Earth is NOT infinite. Every second spent on #selfdoubt, is a second wasted on pursuing what our hearts actually long for. Any time you feel your #fear pushing you into not taking action on your #goals, try these 3 steps: ✏️1. Do a personal #SWOT analysis SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, #Opportunities, and Threats. A SWOT Analysis a valuable tool that will give you a thorough lay of the land in which you operate. It will give you the knowledge you need to make sure you can properly lay out your goal game plan. ✏️2. Make a game plan How to get from where you’re at now, to where you WANT to be. Set your goal using the S.M.A.R.T. framework (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound). ✏️3. Take that FIRST step! Even if your head might say otherwise because it is in a #fightorflight mode, thinking it is trying to keep you ‘safe’ from the possible unknown Could you end up making a mistake? Maybe. But what if the steps you take, turns out to be WAY more amazing than you could possibly imagine? It’s really hard to be on social media and NOT compare yourself to others😶 Your body isn’t good enough, your wardrobe isn’t trendy enough, and your house isn’t posh enough. It might even make you feel like you aren’t enough.
I’m talking to myself too. I’m totally fascinated and intrigued by how these beautiful, successful people live their lives. If I’m not careful, I can wind up spending hours in a day, scrolling through the lives of these people I may or may not even know, and it leaves me feeling not so great about myself. Comparisons steal our joy, our pay checks and our sanity. If we don’t stop comparing ourselves to others, we will constantly spend money and mental energy just trying to keep up!
