Do you trust the timing of your life? Truthfully when I was a teen, I used to HATE life. I felt it was happening to me, and that other people were just somehow "luckier" than me to have their life all perfectly figured out. I've come to learn that that is simply NOT true. The truth is, even the people that look like they have everything are struggling. When life gets tough, it is so easy to think life is happening to you, not for you. It is easy to start to doubt #God or the Universe that they actually care about you. I really can understand. I felt those exact same feelings during some of the darkest moments of my life. You can choose to STOP allowing the internet or #socialmedia to rush you, to make you feel like you aren't enough, or that you're behind in life compared to others. You hold within you the power to change #yourlife story if you are willing to stand up, accept what is and isn't within your control, and #keepgoing. Gentle reminder: Your #feelings DON’T define you, it’s your #ACTIONS. It’s perfectly okay to feel your feelings - scared, sad, angry, #unmotivated, unworthy, #stressed, #overwhelmed, lost, and so on… Why? Because you and I, we’re only human. Having feelings (the good and the bad), are part and parcel of being HUMAN. Feeling is NOT the problem. ALLOWING them to make us feel “stuck”, to make us lose #hope in life, IS a problem. If you keep worrying, “What if things don’t turn out like how I wanted it to be? What if…” True, no one can be certain of the future. But one thing is for sure… If you do nothing at all, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. A week, a month, 1 year from now, you’ll still be at the EXACT same spot, having the same feelings that you have right now. If you feel sad, #LEARN from the pain. If you feel scared, DO it anyway. If you feel stressed and overwhelmed, MAKE CHANGES to your work and life habits. If you feel lost, TRY something new. One of the most important things in our lives, something we should be careful about because it's not easy to build but so easy to break is TRUST. Building trust with others is important to having healthy relationships, be it a professional or intimate relationship. Without trust, how can your managers give you any responsibilities to take on? How can your friends share their deepest secrets with you? As humans however, we tend to make mistakes, mistakes that we are not proud, breaking the trust we've built with others along with our mistakes. But don't be despaired, with some effort and time, it is possible to rebuild trust with others. We're gonna be looking at the important elements of building a deep level of trust, the steps to create trust with other, as well as what you can do to rebuild broken trust with others based on my own previous experiences. Before talking about it in depth, I highly recommend keeping the trust that someone gives to you and be careful not to break it no matter what. Not only because it isn't easy to rebuild, but also in certain severe cases, you might risk never being able to rebuild it. How to rebuild and create trust with different relationships Let's talk a little bit about trust and what it means. I'm sure a lot of us know it means in a general sense, which is 'someone putting trust in us with something'. But it also has a different meaning. That is, when someone trusts the other person with confidence. A feeling of being sure of this person. This is a very precious feeling to have about someone because it means opening about a lot of things he or she wouldn't usually share with anyone else. Trust can be built in different relationships, such as with your loved ones(partners), friends, family members, or even coworkers. The elements of trust When you want to build trust with someone, these are the important elements to adopt in order to build a deep sense of trust:
It might not always seem so easy to build trust with others, but if we want to build long-lasting, healthy relationships with others, we need to put effort into it. More than that, it is important not to break the trust with others because trust is like a mirror. Once you break it, it's quite impossible to get it back as it was before. I'm going to talk first about how you can CREATE trust with different relationships and then share how you can REBUILD it if you've unintentionally broken it. How to create trust with others? I'm talking about a fresh start. People that haven't trusted you before. How can you create trust with them? Here are 3 steps to build trust with others: 1. Develop the elements of trust When you first aim to create trust with someone. You need to develop the four elements of trust that I mentioned earlier. Without them, trust would be near impossible to be established. Being a person who others can rely on is something that can build good trust. Be available when someone needs your support and be a person others can depend on. Trust can take time to acquire but it's so worth the effort. Being honest in all relationships is the number one factor that can help you to build good trust with others. First, be honest with yourself and be honest and true to others. Show them that you are honest with them through your actions. Over time, they will start to trust you more and more. 2. Be true to what you say and do I don't think people would like to trust others who say something, but act differently. You need to match your words with your actions. If you are trying to build trust with your partner, she or he needs to know that you are true to what you are saying. Not just saying things to impress them. Do things and mean it from the heart. Don't just do them to impress others because not only will that not work, you will be seen as an unreliable person. 3. Be consistent Creating trust with someone is not that easy and it takes consistency to achieve it. Keep doing what you do every day. It might not work from the first day and that's normal. Just don't stop or change if you are on the right path to establish trust between you and the other person. Know that trust can also be developed to a deeper level. The more you stay consistent with your words and actions, the deeper the level of trust you both will build. How can you rebuild broken trust with others? As we are all only human, breaking trust with others are bound to happen, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Breaking trust with others creates a dent in the relationship. Feelings of trust for each other will become difficult and potentially others will start to feel less safe around you. 1. Take A Step Back As much as you want to rebuild the trust immediately, the best you can do when it happens is by stepping back. Give your partner or friend time to be ready to forgive you and accept you in their lives again. When I say take a step back, I mean don't try to push to rebuild trust immediately. Let others have sufficient time to deal with their feelings first. Focus first on fixing the problem or issue you created. Make sure to show the other person that you didn't mean to hurt them. Apologize to them in the most sincere way possible, tell them that you regret your actions or words, and you will do your very best not to make the same mistake again. 2. Show That You Mean It After the situation becomes less heated between you and the other person, you can start showing the other person that you are serious about rebuilding the trust with them. Apologizing alone, no matter how many times you say it, changes nothing. You need to show them through your actions. Try to develop the four elements again, and this time - do it with more conviction. Prove to them that you are worthy of another chance. Remember that it might take time to regain the trust again, but if this person is important to you, don't give up or let go easily. Make sure to keep the consistency on fixing all the mistakes you did which led to you breaking the trust between you and the other person. 3. Communicate More Another point that is important not to overlook, is to improve your level of communication with them. Especially, if the reason for you hurting the other person was due to poor communication. Be more open and truthful. Make sure to show that you are committed to better communication through your actions. 4. Practice Active Listening Listening actively with the intention to really understand what others are saying can help to make a world of a difference when trying to rebuild trust with others. Only through really listening with your heart, having a sincere intention to understand how others feel and think, can you then be able to fix and improve things. It Takes Two To Clap It order to establish a solid foundation of trust, it should be a willing action taken from both sides. If the other person is not trying or willing to rebuild it, then it might mean that they need more time to forgive or deal with their inner distrust against you. Just like love, don't try to force trust to happen overnight. It takes time, effort, and consistent actions to build. What other tips have helped you to create or rebuild broken trust with others? Instead, a healthy dose of skepticism forces us to confront and validate our #beliefs, ideas and choices over and over. It helps ensure you that you are on the right track. 3 TAKE TIME FOR #SELFCARE Make time for self-care and play in your life - whether it's singing, dancing, or hiking your favorite trail -- doing this will add joy to your life to balance the #stress and #anxiety even in the deepest abyss of the dip. 4 STICK TO YOUR #CONVICTIONS What do you believe in? Knowing the answer to this question will help you stay focused on the big picture. Let your convictions be your guide and sustain you through #toughtimes. 5 TALK IT OUT It's dangerous to get stuck in your own head.
