Overthinking? Try This 3-Second Reset

There was a time when I could turn the smallest situation into a 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦 🤯Someone wouldn’t reply to a message — and I’d replay it a hundred different ways.

A meeting didn’t go perfectly — and I’d analyze 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 word I said.

If you’ve ever been there too, you know how exhausting it feels to live in your head instead of your life.

Here’s what helped me stop overthinking — in just 3 seconds 🧠✨

Step 1: Notice it. Literally say to yourself, “𝑰’𝒎 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒘.”

Step 2: Take one deep breath and drop your shoulders.

Step 3: Ask, “𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕?”

That question pulls you out of the story and back into reality.

Because most of the time, nothing’s 𝒘𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 — our brain is just trying to protect us from a future that doesn’t even exist yet.

The more I practiced this, the faster my mind learned that peace isn’t found by 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 — it’s found by 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭🌿

Most people 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏’𝒕 taught how to set boundaries — they’re taught to be 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.
So when you start using one-line boundaries like:

✨ “I’m not available for this conversation right now.”
✨ “Let me get back to you on that.”
✨ “I hear you, but I see things differently.”
✨ “That doesn’t work for me.” — it might feel uncomfortable at first.

And I get that. The first time I said one of these out loud, my heart was pounding. I was so afraid of being seen as rude, cold, or “too much.”

But here’s what actually happened: the world didn’t end.

The person respected it, and more importantly — 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

That moment gave me evidence that I can stand my ground with grace. And each time I’ve done it since, it’s gotten a little easier.

Discomfort is often the doorway to self-trust. You don’t need to over-explain, apologize, or convince someone why your boundary is valid.

You’re allowed to protect your energy with calm, clarity, and compassion. Because the people who are meant for you won’t need you to abandon yourself to stay connected. Which boundary line do you want to practice this week?⬇️

Why Do We Accept the Love We Know We Don’t Deserve?

I used to 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 for people who barely lifted a finger for me. I thought if I just 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 I was good enough, loyal enough, forgiving enough… maybe they’d change.

But the truth?

They weren’t the problem. 𝗠𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲.

The real shift happened when I stopped asking, “𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙚?”


And started asking, “𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩?”

Sometimes we chase people because we’re still trying to earn the love we didn’t get when we needed it most.


But you 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 have to do that anymore.
